Yo' I have decided to give this blog thing a go. I did have one on google blogs or some other gubbins like that but stopped after realising only 3 people were reading it (including myself) but it was fun while it lasted. After checking it was on Blogger: http://koopa42.blogspot.com/?zx=33cfc5822330fece OK so there is a bit of gaming on there but also lots of random stuff, I'll try and make this blog a bit more gaming oriented. OK so about me....... I'm a retro and modern gamer with my current emphasis on 'modern' but perhaps the emphasis should be on 'gamer'? I don't sugar coat what I like (of think for that matter), modern or retro - I play games that I like rather than when they are from or what they are on. Unless of course they are on the truly fetid Comode 64 with it's urine stained case and fecal coloured keys - I do not accept anything to do with the appalling thing, as we all know the mighty Spectrum is the god king of retro gaming systems. I digress..... I've known Boyo for some number of years now and helped with the original Retro Ball event and it's sequel as well as on occasion offered moral support when retro snipers try and 'undermine' his work . You'll find me mostly on the Retropassion forum but I frequent Fusion too and occasionally come out of RG exile to shatter the moronic types on Retrogamer........however there are decent people on there - I just don't like clowns. I'm currently in a retro hibernation of sorts, nothing from the old days appeals to me and I have sold almost every retro item I own (except for my beloved Street Fighter collection). I have gone from playing Street Fighter II on a daily basis to the occasional blast on it when my mates come around. There is no doubt in my mind that I will return to the retro stuff because as we all know what we play ebb and flows. I own a 360 (my main console by a country mile) and a PS3 (I only own 1 game for this, which I don't even play and use the PS3 as a media player only) as well as a DS and PSP (both mainly used for emulation). As we speak Fallout New Vegas eats my life and the news of the Elder Scrolls V has made me have a cardiac - good times ahead. |
