You would hope microsoft would have had time to learn form their console cooking exploits. I guess the timeframe would allow for newer technology chips to be used lowering the power and therefore the heat.
Been married long enough to forget what an orgasm is, but I don't remember it being aided by microsoft
I think it looks great. I really can't stand my X Box 360 these days and think it is the worst piece of gaming hardware I have ever purchased, but this new one seems to address all the awful problems of the original. If I can transfer my stuff from my current 360 to one of these then I am definitely getting one and then I shall give my current 360 away to my friends son.
This new version is apparently guaranteed to not get the red ring of death. My new question is, why can't Microsoft put this hardware inside the older model case so it might have the same guarantees. I guess that would cut into sales of this model.
Is this the first time that a company has admitted that they screwed up pretty bad on the hardware? I mean, who is the PR person responsible for making that "guarantee" (and I wonder what the higher ups at MS think of it).
Got mine today. I like the look (or do I? I'm undecided - I reminds me of a coffee machine), I like the 250gb HD, I don't like the fact the HD is different so I can't use it on other 360s (I take my HD to mum's to play on stepdad's 360 while they spend time with my little 'un).
However, the full DRM license transfer was NOT the horror I was lead to believe, it took about 2 hours (it would be even quicker for someone who can be online and on live at the same time) in total and it even transferred stuff I had bought on my last LAST 360! Good times. I did a memory stick transfer of my stuff (rather than the transfer cable) and it was also easy as pie, and I'm no techno gubbin.
The only real reason I got the slim is because I had 3 other 360's thet weren't going to hold any value soon (and just sat gathering dust), so I flogged my chipped 360, am currently flogging my elite and I reckon by the time I'm done I'll only be say £20 out of pocket.
I have a modded arcade 360 and another one a 120gb HDD. I think I'm OK atm in terms of the 360. Next console I really, really want to get is the Nintendo 3DS. Really excited about that machine.
I don't know if they are selling well, I just didn't need 4 360's. My modded 360 is on eGay right now, I don't think I'll get much for it but there is a lot of questions about it LOL
