Sony Walkman Has Died

After 31 years, the sony walkman died the other day. However they will continue to be made in China! Must admit I never even knew they were still making walkmans. I knew about portable cd players as they have them in Asda

Where on earth were they selling these things?

Does anybody here still walk around with their tapes in a bag and walkman? Apart from my sister in law, I know nobody

I bought one in a sale from an electronics shop that was getting rid of all their Walkman stock. It was a really high end swish one which is very compact and feels heavy and has a cold metal finish. I do use it very occasionally as I have a small pile of compilation tapes I made years ago from other peoples record collections and it is quite nice to listen to them now after not having heard them in over 15 years.

I still have one somewhere i use it to load cassette games on an Acorn Electron lol
