Retro Sweets

When out and about with the kids last weekend, my 3 year old son picked up some sherbert space ships - remember those?

Suffice to say, my son did not like them which I found slanderous. The rest were shared between my wife and I.

Re: Retro Sweets

I seem to remember some kind of peanut thing coated in toffee. Quite soft toffee, though. Don't remember what it was called, or that it existed for sure, but there's something at the back of my mind that suggests it did.

Also, I see to remember really liking some green and white spearmint chew things. Were they called Pacers? They freakin' rawked, whatever they were called.

Pineapple Rock - always used to get in trouble in school chomping on that in lessons ... mainly because the room stunk of (chemical) pineapple afterwards.

Sherbert Space Ships? I think you mean Flying Saucers.

We have a shop near us called The Victorian Sweet Shop that sells lots of old classic sweets.

Very easy to spend a fortune in there.

It was a Nutty bar, soft caramel centre with peanuts on the outside - delicious!

Re: Retro Sweets

My daughters get sweety bags and I always pinch those purple sweets that taste like perfume when you crunch them. I am sure they were called 'Violets' when I was a kid.
