What retro gear have you purchased recently?

As the car boot season arrives everyone is out there looking to pick up a retro bargain. Please post some pics of all the goodies you find.

Re: What retro gear have you purchased recently?

Well I have modded my Wii to play retro - bought and sold on an XBOX and this pretty much it.

Also bought a DSTwo card so that I can play Homebrew and stuff on my 3DS - pretty much an R4 for the 3DS.

Re: What retro gear have you purchased recently?

I have got a PSP to play PS1 games and I am playing through Final Fantasy VII (on disk 2 now) and Tomb Raider. It is also pretty good for Gameboy Advance emulation but the SNES emulation is not so good. None of the PSP games I have tried are anything special, Ridge Racer and Wipeout were okay and MGS: Peace Walker would have been good on PS2 but controls are not so good on PSP.

You sold your XBox? I am considering getting one now as I think I prefer original XBox games to 360 games. I would want a modded one so I can install all the games to hard drive.

Re: What retro gear have you purchased recently?

The Wii is superb for Retro gaming, especially if you have it modded or soft modded. It is a shamer the ZX Spectrum emulator has such a poor interface as it is a pain in the arse to set up keys and such like to play a game.

I recently worked out how to get a USB hard drive to work with my Wii and that has really opened it up. I have a 500GB external hard drive with loads of videos on for WiiMC and all my games are installed to hard drive too so I do not have to bother with discs anymore.

Not strictly a purchase but dug my pocket simon out of the garage the other day and a very retro 12 in games brick from Tandy!! Both still work!

Been playing Pilotwing Resort on the 3DS all week - not truly retro but retro all the same!

I've got one in the shed (best place for it).....

(although I have been working very hard to get the shed turned into my 'escape pod'.... and it is almost ready :-) )

The speccy will be in use fairly soon, along with the much better C64 !

Convinced now I am going to get one with an Interface 1 and Microdrive. Want an Alphacom 32 printer as well with a DK'tronics keyboard.

My old setup.
