I'm thinking that the emulated version of this game is running faster than the normal PS1 game. I was screaming around the tracks yesterday yet only got 1:11 as the best time.
must be, cos i smashed out a 1:00:560 lap on one of my runs... Grrr technology... I am going to try and get hold of an original copy and play it on my ps1. Only a week left!!!
That is much closer to the times I got and I used a real PS1 (I am about 1 second slower). I didn't manage a clean lap (a few scrapes but no crashes) so was sure I should be able to go a few seconds faster but 11 seconds faster is a lot.
It did occur to me that the NTSC version may run faster than the PAL one.
