This game was very well reviewed and scores highly on metacritic butI can't get anywhere with it. I have only found one quest since completing the tutorial ("The Family") and I have spent hours wondering around trying to find a clue or something to progress. Occasionally I have a fight and sometimes I die.
Everybody I meet either wants to kill me or tells me to go away and so I just carry on walking around the grim looking world getting nowhere.
I think the fact I am 5 hours into the game and have only unlocked 20 achievement points gives some idea of how pointless it is all seeming.
Anybody here had a more successful go at getting anywhere on this?
I have maxed Fallout 3 and New Vegas. The game is one of the single best games of all time. For me it is about 1 atom below Oblivion in pure awesomeness.
It's hardly a linear game but the main quest will be listed in the 'active quests' menu and if you 'set active quest' a marker will show on your map and HUD giving you the direction to go.
Yes, talking with people will depend on your 'karma' rating and speech skills and it can be tricky (sometimes).
I would suggest that you stick with it, maybe download the official guide and have a read, it will explain character builds etc.
If you don't like free roaming games where you really can potter about doing anything and everything without even doing the main quests? Fallout is DEFFO not for you. There is no right/wrong way to play these games so don't worry if you fuck up.
