Oids, Hunter, IK+ - all favourites from my younger days

I'm just offloading my 1300+ collection of Atari ST originals via a reknowned eBay seller as they were starting to take over life and my flat

It's weird looking at four Ikea 'Billy' shelves almost all empty of games.  Still more shelves to empty and then there's the four 'plastic CD drawers on wheels' which are overflowing with budget titles but they're going next

Re: Atari ST Games List

My Amiga was mostly used for ripping music out of games and then re-releasing them on Atari ST .MOD compilation disks   Never had much use for it other than this and playing Syndicate @ 28Mhz c/o the accelerator card I had at the time.

Sold it all as a bundle .. and spent the lolly on a 2x CD-ROM unit and Soundblaster 16 card for the PC

Re: Atari ST Games List

I loved my ST until I heard the Axel F tune being played in a shop in West Wales on an Amiga connected to a dual speaker, amlified system.

I nearly wet myself and had to have one. Sold the ST and bought an Amiga 500 off a friend. Then I got an Amiga 1200 and more fool me, an Amiga CD32.

So many great games, so difficult to choose! However, if pressed I would probably go for:

Llamatron - Jeff Minter takes Robotron 2084 mixes in Llamas and surpasses the original.

Time Bandit - A dash of Gauntlet, a handful of adventuring and a pinch of Pacman makes a brilliant and enduring game.

Super Hang-on - Quite simply one of the best arcade conversions around. Electric Dreams did a brilliant job on the Sega arcade racer.

Interphase - Smooth 3D cyberspace adventure as you fly through the levels avoiding traps and disabling security systems.

Pipemania - The original and best version. One of those simple concept puzzle games that 20 years later is still a fantastic play.

Falcon - One of the best flight sims around and it allowed multiplayer too.

Resolution 101 - Fun 3D shooter with a nod to Bladerunner.

Grav - A PD game that looked to be a clone of Thrust/Oids but was in fact even better.

The Killing Game Show - Platform based mech shooter that was horribly addictive.

Nitro - Probably one of the best overhead racers around.  Seriously under-rated at the time but it is still hugely playable even nowadays.

Paladin - Turn based strategy game on the lines of Dungeons and Dragons that was surprisingly way ahead of its time.

Chopper X - Helicopter based scrolling shooter. Not much to look at but it played well and once hooked up to a MIDI synth had an awesome soundtrack.

Mr Dice - Another PD game, this time a involving matching Dice. Similar to Rox on the PS1 but at the time was fiendishly addictive.

E-Motion - Rubber bands and balls based arcade puzzle game and another excellent title from 'The Assembly Line'.

Tetris - After the GBA version the ST version is probably one of the best.

Some great stuff there.  I have a DC emulator which has a lot of those on.  However, a few more to add:

Nebulus - Looked great on the Atari ST
Backlash - Encounter for the 16-bit era.  Ran faster than the Amiga version and looked stunning (still worth a quick blast even now)
Starglider 1 & 2 (especially 2) - Nobody mentioned these!
Star Ray - Nice horizontal scrolling shoot em up
Goldrunner - Beautiful vertical shooter

I also had an ST (couldn't afford an Amiga!). I used to leave the loading screen on Xenon 2 for ages to listen to this...
