MINIMIG
Amiga 500 in a matchbox!

Posted by boyo on Sep 26, 2010 20:35 (Sep 26, 2010 20:35)

The love for the Amiga continues. I have just ordered a MiniMeg - a 12cm x 12cm hardware recreation of the Amiga 500! Take a look at the picture below, it's tiny and literally fits in the palm of your hand!

I paid a little extra for a further 4MB of memory and also whilst talking to www.amigakit.com  I paid for a SCART cable and a plexi glass case for the above circuity - and a picture of this follows:

When it all arrives, I will take some pictures and post a review. I'm pretty excited about this little device, as it should use my existing LCD monitor, keyboard and mouse - so pretty wife friendly!

Well I did play this - but decided to sell on as imo WinUAE does more and is more compatible. So got £150 for it on the Bay.

Me and brother use to have an Amiga, think there were three 500, 800 and 1200. I always wanted the Amiga 32CD but could never afford.
I remember struggling with Terminator 2 on it, hardest game I have ever played. In todays world of gamerpoints, Microsoft would give you the whole 1000 points just for finishing it lol.

Great little device - not 100% compatible with all games - but a superb machine not the less. Playing the Amiga games on a VGA monitor is pretty cool - and you can add scanlines as well :-)
