I just don't get the Final Fantasy games. I put it down to me be from the West. I did purchase Final Fantasy 7 as millions of us did, not really fully understanding what we were buying into. Suffice to say, the game did not get much play from me - not for the gameplay anyway.
What I did fall in love with was the music in the game, especially the tune that played when the game loaded whilst you were sitting on the menu about to play. There seems to be many versions of this same tune across the different releases of the Final Fantasy games - it is the Final Fantasy 7 one that sticks in my mind. haunting, nostalgic and hypnotic.
