PHLILIP OLIVER'S EARLY VIEW OF THE 3DS
Philip Oliver @ E3 with a 3DS

Posted by boyo on Jun 19, 2010 15:50 (Jun 19, 2010 15:50)

Retro Fusion caught up with Philip Oliver at the E3 show and asked him what he thought of the new Nintendo 3DS console. Here is his reply:

"I got to see the new Nintendo 3DS yesterday. From what I saw they really are onto a winner. There are many improvements over the current DS/DSi, but the most obvious is the 3D auto-stereoscopic screen, this means is looks 3D (having depth like recent real D movies like Avatar) but you don’t need glasses! A slider on the right of the screen adjusts the depth separation and it works really well !
Other great features include the analogue joystick, the enhanced graphics processing power and the 3 cameras – 2 on the back & 1 on the front, whilst the physical size remains the same as the DSi.

Rumour suggests it could be released late 2010 but probably only in Japan, meaning we will see it here in the first half of 2011. Obviously this is rumour and no dates have been set.

Well done Nintendo, I think it’s a great new handheld. I just hope they can stop the terrible piracy that plauged the DS."

Thanks for sending us your views Philip, and look - here he is handcuffed to the nice lady at E3 so he does not run away with one!
