THE GREAT GIANA SISTERS GOES HD FOR THE IPAD Mario clone no longer an annoyance for Nintendo, apparently

It's funny how controversy seems to be a matter of time and context. It was a big deal when Super Mario Bros. rip-off was kicked off the Amiga shelves back in 1987, making it a much sought after and infamous title.
Admittedly, there was still a hell of a lot of money riding on Mario's every jump and mushroom stomp back then, but it was a game that Amiga-nauts and Spec-chums were never going to participate in, so The Great Giana Sisters was a most welcome addition to the machines' collective rosters (despite it's unbelievably crap title).
Anyway, jump forward twenty-odd years, and it seems that vicious controversy has dwindled to nothing. Giana Sister made its official way to the iPhone a while back, and Nintendo apparently didn't bat an eyelid. Developer Bad Monkee has therefore built on that retro gold mine and just released a new HD version of Giana Sisters for iPad.
The graphics have been scaled right up, and includes 80 new levels on top of the 32 original retro ones. So if a bit of Mario-based controversy-that's-not-controversial is up your alley, bounce on over to the App Store and take you iPad on a trip down memory lane.
