I am a huge fan of the original Daytona USA after seeing the game back in the 80's at the seaside resort of Pendine in West Wales. Outrun came and went, but it was Daytona that had hit a chord with my gaming juices.
How dissappointed was I with the release of the game on the Sega Saturn?- this was the first version which utilised 2/3rd of the screen with clipping galore.
And here we are many years later with the launch of the XBLA version of the original arcade game. I have just used 800pts to purchase this mighty gem and the video below is my first go of the game after purchase on my new LG 50" Plasma.
The game looks and sounds awesome and plays just as good - simple gameplay that takes you back to the arcades of your youth.
