Tron Tanks Online crept out quietly this morning, with nothing in its description other than a long string of binary digits.

Those clever enough to speak binary (or to type it into Google) will have figured out the cunning code says "This TRON app will evolve. ComiTRON coming 072210."

Hmm, ComiTRON, eh? Well, whatever that is, this free iPhone app looks to be a pretty standard - if gorgeously vectorised - tank battle game, allowing you to go head-to-head against a host of other players trapped on the game grid. We've not been able to test it out, sadly, but judging by the screenies there's online multipler included. Not bad for a freebie.

You can bet we'll be seeing more of these Tron games as the film draws closer, so let's just hope it lands in territories outside of the US before too long. For those fortunately to live in the colonies, here's a link to the new Tron game on the App Store.

Aye, keep us posted. I'd like a go myself, but can't be bothered setting up a US iTunes account. God, I hate iTunes. iPhone rawks, though. And so does Tron.
