As EA Sports have already begun their affectionately named “Project Ten Dollar” one time code stuff with Tiger Woods PGA Tour 11, the gaming giant looks to be taking a different route with another of their big name sporting franchises, NBA Elite 11.
They’ve managed to elegantly deflect any idea as to whether or not the online code option will still be a problem for the pre-owned punters, but one thing that new buyers will be able to play around with (not to mention leave us retro types a little green around the gills in jealousy) is have the reincarnation of NBA JAM as a nice dangly carrot for the herd to try and get their teeth round.
The code found in the case will allow you to access 3 game modes for the downloadable version of the arcade classic later this year, namely the offline career mode, play now and online multiplayer options, and it has Jordan Edelstein, EA Sports’ Vice President of Marketing, quite excited:
“The addition of three free downloadable modes of the award winning NBA JAM is an unprecedented value add to a product that is already set to revolutionize the basketball videogame category” The return of the fireball slam dunk will be upon us on the 5th October in the States and the 8th October over here in the European provinces. Then we can all go “DOWN TOWN” and buy it.
