RARE BBC ELITE BADGE!
Another one surfaces - wonder how many more are locked away in attics around the country!

Posted by boyo on Aug 7, 2010 09:17 (Aug 7, 2010 09:17)

Whilst out and about meeting fellow retro enthusiasts, I was given a gift.

I was told that it is an extremely rare "Elite" badge that Acornsoft awarded gamers that sent in their 'order of the Elite' postcard with the code they received at 'Elite' level within the BBC game of the same name.

Take a look - anyone seen one of these before?

That is excellent, ELITE. Have you played either of the 2 GBA versions by Quirky? One is largely faithful to the original BBC version and the other has loads of new stuff in it but is a bit harder since you start with a rubbish ship and very little cargo space.

I am playing the second one on the Wii and really enjoying it.

Got to "Dangerous" I think.  I don't suppose they had the same badge with "Harmless" written on it?

I never got to be Elite, although one of my friends mum did back in the 1980s. I am playing Elite AGB at the moment, a GameBoy Advance version by Quirky which has been expanded so you can but better ships, have more missions, more types of upgrades and loads of other stuff. I am playing it on the Wii GBA emulator and it plays great.
