DOOM 4 ON THE HORIZON!
Doom....Doooooom, Doooooooooom

Posted by boyo on Aug 11, 2010 21:14 (Aug 11, 2010 21:14)

id Software technical guru John Carmack has told OPM UK anyone expecting to wait a long time for DOOM 4 will have a shorter wait than first thought.

“Well we’ve got Doom 4 going on right now below our feet here,” he said.“The Doom team are all sped up and working on this technology base – I’m not really at liberty to discuss much about it, but it’s going full steam ahead right now.He adds: “It shouldn’t take as long to ship as Rage. It’s already in the pipeline and we feel good about it.”

Doom is one of the best games of all time, and defined a genre. So the 4th instalment is welcome and cannot arrive quick enough in our humble opinions.

I hate Doom. It signalled the end for point and click games, and paved the way for Halo, which is frankly inexcusable...

I think it's a case of you can sell Doom to a lot more people. Doom 3 (I preordered it and picked it up at 9am on release day) was OK but I still prefer the original Doom games. Doom 4 for is probably an instant buy for me but Commander Keen? Not as marketable.

Why don't they do a sequel to Commander Keen? It would be great... Doom has nothing to say anymore... It's only a matter of better graphics, I think...

Doom 4? I'd be all over that like Oprah on a baked ham.

Doom 1 scared the pants off me - used to play in the dark you know, with the sound pumped up - wimpering I was!
